SEASIDE TREASURES
Side by side they strolled
comfortably in silence, hearing
nothing but the shushing
of waves on the shore.
Every few steps
one or the other would
stoop to scoop up
their latest treasure.
Each seashell special,
preserved in a place
of honor reserved for
collected memories.

echoes from the silence 
This is lovely. We used to collect shells, and I came across them during the mammoth clearout. All but two (spider crab) shells were thrown away. Hard decisions all the time.
