TURN OF EVENTS
pivoting,
bright red toes
like fuses lit,
peek from metallic
silver pumps,
propelling her petulant
staccatoed pacing
spinning
fabric billows wildly,
eyes dart her way
to watch, wonder
judge, and suppose
the reasons
for her rebellious ruin
swirling
in scarred thoughts,
her own dubious
gaze falls
on her keeper
as the door’s latch
echoes her exile
