A MIGHTY FORTRESS
darkness envelops
fear rattles me;
I’m bound as if weeds
sprouted at my
feet, entangling me
I am held captive.
voices pierce darkness
like keys jangling;
a Holy image
fills my vision,
splintering shackles
Captivating me.

Paula, I love that the captivation is a positive one; that the shackles are splintered and God moves in. Inspiring poem, and thank you! Amy
