No Time Like the Present

NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT

The day after yesterday
is when I’ll begin.
I’ll take time to play
the day after yesterday–
nothing will stand in my way.
With a giggle and grin,
the day after yesterday
is when I’ll begin.

Written for Poetic Bloomings Prompt 351 – The Day After

Second Chances

The blazing iris of the sun
ushers in a new day.
Yesterday, gone and done,
the blazing iris of the sun
misses no one.
Whoever’s gone astray, whatever’s fallen to decay,
the blazing iris of the sun
ushers in a new day.
