It’s All In My Head

IT’S ALL IN MY HEAD

I’m alone
in this space,
this place
where thoughts
collide
with reality.
Whispers of hope
are crowded out
by shouts
of disappointment
and failure.
My cries go unheard;
tears, undried.
I’m all alone
in this space.

In Case Of _____

In case of a short attention span due to allergy-induced fog…write PI(KU)…

IN CASE OF VISION LOSS

Open your
mind
to a new path.

IN CASE OF RAIN

Take off your
shoes
and start dancing.

IN CASE OF A HOT FLASH

If not yours:
keep
a safe distance.

IN CASE OF A BROKEN HEART

Remember
where
you can find glue.

The Colors of My Day

THE COLORS OF MY DAY

Black.
The inky darkness
that envelops me.

Gray.
The dreary cloud
that covers my days.

Blue.
My eyes, like pools of water,
filled with tears.

Red.
My nose,
sore from blowing.

Green.
The color I see
on the other side of the fence.

Purple.
The bruise that is
my broken heart.

Yellow.
The brilliance of the sun
that I trust will shine on my world once more.
