SOLITUDE
A
lone
wolf stands
at the edge
of the midnight sky.
The horizon stretches far, wide,
beyond what my eyes
can see. The
wolf stands
a
-lone.

LOVE BURNS ETERNAL
As
his eyes
closed the door
at each day’s end,
his mind would return
to the one who’d lit his
heart with the magic of fire
-flies; a love that did not fall short
of his dreams, for that is where love lives.
It’s when he would sleep, he’d rest in her arms.
Then the time came to close the door on the
midnight of his dreams, a place where her
fanciful flight of fireflies had
lit the path of each foot fall,
guiding them around all
turns and obstacles.
Undying love
leading to
endless
sleep.

MIDNIGHT CONTEMPLATIONS
It’s not my imagination…
as I listen to the music of the night,
my defenses find cessation.
It’s not my imagination…
truth is realized through all sensations.
His tender mercies are not finite.
It’s not my imagination,
as I listen to the music of the night.

MIDNIGHT MELANCHOLY
Night’s slow fade
of blue to purple
sends my heart
halfway ‘round
the world to where the sky is
filled with your mourning.
