lullaby

Dusk

DUSK

Ribbons of pink and purple
rest on distant horizon,
crickets and bullfrogs singing
lullaby of
evening contentment.

Gone is the noise of the day.
Tomorrow, nowhere in sight.
Only now.

LOST IN A LULLABY
(a shadorma)

When clouds rest
they quietly float
upon the
blue waters
of the tranquil sea, rocked to
sleep by gentle breeze.

Raindrop Lullaby

RAINDROP LULLABY

Snuggled into bed, rain
falling gently – no thunder, just peace-
ful cascades on a night not so warm;

slowly exhaling – content and warm,
I’m lulled by rain,
each drop filling me with peace;

I float away to dream of warm
sunny beaches where peace-
filled waves sound like rain.

Warm rain drops peace.

TAKE TWO:

RAINDROP LULLABY

Snuggled into bed, rain
falling gently – no thunder, just peace-
ful cascades on a night not so warm;

slowly exhaling – content and warm,
I’m lulled by rain,
each drop filling me with peace;

I float off to peace-
filled dreams to bask in warm
sunshine, where waves sound like rain

Warm rain drops peace.
