LIFE’S AUTUMNAL EQUINOX

A time to bridge hot summer days to
long winter nights: comfortable
season of Fall. The pace of
our days, like familiar
back-to-school routines.
Our hearts are warm
like the hearth
of our
home.

Posted for 100 Days of Summer 2014 (Facebook Group): 100 ~ drop (well…a loose interpretation of “drop” which is kind of like “fall.” And when I think of “fall” I think of “Autumn.” Which means saying goodbye to summer. And with this post, on the last day of the 100 Days of Summer 2014 project, I thank the many photographers who provided 100 days of inspiration! Thank you, all!

WITH THE FLOW
(a shadorma)

One season
flows into the next.
Hot Summer
days replaced
with cool nights, surrounding us
with colors of Fall.

CHANGE OF SEASON

Summer shades
slowly changing hues
leading me to Autumn
like rose petals being strewn
before a bride.

The Rise and Fall

THE RISE AND FALL

There once was a lady by the lake
For special occasions she’d offer to bake
Her soda was old
And oven too cold
Which left her with a very flat cake.

Written for Poetic Bloomings two-fer prompt…to write a (1) Rising to the Occasion or (2) Falling Short poem. Or both. I went a slightly different direction and tried my hand at a limerick. (I’m sooo not a limerick writer!)
