ALL GOD’S CREATURES
(a shadorma)

Strong winds blow
through hills and valleys,
a storm is
rolling in.
Heading for shelter, they wait
while she rescues friends.

    1. Thank YOU, margo, for encouraging us to look for a single detail. The two other individuals seem to be looking back to the third person, capturing their attention with the single thing that’s captured her attention. I’m going with “cat” as the detail. =^.^=

    1. Thanks, Debi. I was swayed a bit by the title of the painting…not to mention all of the weather we’ve been having in South Texas. Seeking shelter was an easy idea.

    1. Margo comes up with some great ekphrastic prompts. She had three to pick from yesterday. And yes, with the storms we’ve been having here lately, the painting with “Strong Winds” as the title was a natural fit And thanks for asking…the immediate area where I am (north central San Antonio) has had little damage. We’re staying pretty soggy and I’ve had times of no electricity when the greater area is experiencing the worst of it, but so far I’ve been ok. I can’t say the same for the areas within the 30-60 mile radius of me!

  1. Paula, I, too, like the story you’ve told. It complements the painting so well. The ideas of shelter and rescue are so powerful, giving it resonance and depth.
