A New April Fool

A NEW APRIL FOOL

Shy
and
just a
bit naïve,
I arrived at my
first April poetry challenge
two years ago today. With little experience,
I jumped in—a new April fool!
(Who am I fooling?
I still feel
like I
am
new.)

  1. Yes, I remember your grasshopper days. You are now a butterfly. But don’t get too cocky; until you (as have I) been at it four decades or more you may not claim veteran status.

    Write on, Ladybug.

    1. I’ll never make it four more decades…I’m an old lady(bug) already!!

But…thank you, Ron. Your encouragement early on in my “grasshopper” days kept me going.

    1. Brenda, thanks for stopping by to visit a non-wordle! 😉 And…for your words of encouragement…just as you have been doing for over 100 weeks now. ❤

    1. Mosk! Thank you so much. I remember that first year at PA’s PAD…I was nearly ready to give up, when one of my poems made your “list.” I was over the moon with shock to have been noticed. Thank you for the encouragement then…and so often in the two years that followed. Truly, I’m grateful. ❤ Paula

  2. Paula, I love that feeling of newness that you summon. Perfect for today – starting a new batch of poems – and spring in the air – and being back at work after spring break. Poetry keeps us young – let’s hang onto that new feeling.

    1. Ha – thank you, ViV. The “fool” part comes in when I take on crazy challenges! 😉 But…again, thank you! Your feedback is always so encouraging.
