five
and nine
we were worlds
apart and fought all
the time. However, as we grew
older, the gap closed, and sisters became friends for life.

  1. Your first six lines defined my early life. Thereafter, we diverged, emotionally and geographically. So it’s good to know that your kind of friendship exists.

    1. It took us a while to be close…and even longer to be closer geographically! I moved to Texas 10 years ago to be closer to her and her family (my nieces!).
