Tender Mercy

TENDER MERCY

Confidence shaken,
I spiral
in corrupt ambiguity,
yielding to self-
indulgent ways
of the enemy.

Inaudibly
He speaks to me.
Asking for honesty,
offering a solution:
a chance to be
cleansed.

WORD LIST:
impair — cleanse

power — yielding
angel — enemy
skullduggery — honesty
timidity — confidence

Turbulence

TURBULENCE

caught in the snare
of unbalanced emotions

the turbulent ride
first stirs up a fog of dust

(she gasps for air)

the next instant
slaps her with clarity

sanity waits in the wings
for blessed blue sky days

(that she deserves)
