MIDLIFE CRISIS
(a shadorma)
the crisis
everyone faces
midway in
life’s journey…
is not knowing for sure when
it’s really mid-life

Inspired by Carry On Tuesday’s prompt #170 to use all or part of a modern translation of the first line of Dante’s Inferno: “Midway in life’s journey….”
I’ve also posted this poem for Day 55 at “100 Days of Summer” — click here to go to their Facebook page.
What a clever interpretation of the prompt… I think I’ve passed it (I’m past it!)

Nice writing, Paula, but I have to be honest, and sorry if this is a bit of a downer. At 56, I realize I have probably lived longer than I am going to live. And, if I think too much about that, it makes me feel sad.

Yes indeed…it’s a realization we all face as we hit midlife. :-\

I guess I wrote a bit of a dirge as my response to the prompt as I knew I was half way through. But, I like the approach you take!

Oh yes, and then that stinking roadmap–always missing right when you think you know where you are going–which is mid, anyway–it’s a moving target 🙂 Nice write!

Thanks, Sara! Yes, you’re right about that moving target and the roadmap…not to mention detours along the way! :-\
