Midlife Crisis

(a shadorma)

the crisis
everyone faces
midway in
life’s journey…
is not knowing for sure when
it’s really mid-life

P. Wanken

Inspired by Carry On Tuesday’s prompt #170 to use all or part of a modern translation of the first line of Dante’s Inferno: “Midway in life’s journey….”

I’ve also posted this poem for Day 55 at “100 Days of Summer” — click here to go to their Facebook page.

  1. Nice writing, Paula, but I have to be honest, and sorry if this is a bit of a downer. At 56, I realize I have probably lived longer than I am going to live. And, if I think too much about that, it makes me feel sad.

  2. Oh yes, and then that stinking roadmap–always missing right when you think you know where you are going–which is mid, anyway–it’s a moving target 🙂 Nice write!
