(a shadorma)

There they stand
on opposite shores,
with no bridge
between them.
I wonder…when somebody
loves you, will they swim?

P. Wanken

Inspired by Carry On Tuesday’s prompt #169 to use all or part of the opening line of the classic song “All The Way”: “When somebody loves you…”.  I’ve also posted this poem for Day 47 at “100 Days of Summer” — click here to go to their Facebook page, in response to one of the theme expressions this week: “burn one’s bridges.”

  1. What a wonderful image! Always that question, do they love me enough to….Love how you’ve been playing with these idioms and turning them into interesting questions or humorous plays on words 🙂

    1. Thanks, Sara. I’ve enjoyed the “theme expressions” that have been chosen as prompts on “100 Days of Summer.” The phrase is given along with its meaning and origin. I should have been including that information with my “notes.” But if you follow the link to the group page, all of the themes are posted in in “files” for the group. 🙂

  2. best they make certain they each know which one will swim across ~ if both jump in and they meet in the middle, they might drown!

i enjoyed your shadorma ~ a form i haven’t used in far too long!
