vigilant, I’ll wait in the darkness
darkness endangering my trust
trust that’s too easily cut
cutting hope from my life
life’s hazards are real
real, unto death,

  1. I like the loop poetry form feel of this. It flows nicely. I also like (though I realize it is due to the form) the way the poem feels like it is disappearing–fading into nothing–like death.

    1. Thanks, rmp! I wrote a couple Loop Poetry pieces recently and that definitely came into play…amongst all the other prompts/elements I was working with for this one.
