Inspired by Tuesday Tryouts prompt to write a Diamante poem. I wrote my first one after several attempts, and had other ideas in mind, so I decided to give it another go. To read more about the Diamante, visit Margo Roby’s Wordgathering; I am also posting this for Day 9 of “100 Days of Summer.”
I’m glad you tried another. You’re playing with the line breaks now and that adds a whole layer to a diamante when that happens. I discovered there’s more to diamantes than might be thought on first observation and that’s why I like to throw them into the mix.

Thanks for coming by to read…but I’m wondering what you mean by playing with line breaks…it’s in the seven-line form…??

Yes, it is, but the words that follow play back to the words preceding. I guess I meant enjambment even if that also means line breaks 🙂

Ok…that, I understand. 🙂

It’s an interesting form–I like how it circles back to define the beginning–not sure if that’s part of it or not–I’ll have to check it out 🙂

The first line is a noun, with a chosen “opposite” as the last line. Then there’s a series “rules” for the lines in between that transition you from one to the other. There’s a step beyond what I’ve done…I haven’t gone to the “expansion” phase! 😉
