STRUNG ALONG BY CHARM
he said her
eyes
were like sapphires
no more blues…
now:
new merriment
Virgo’s child-
hood
dream: lapis ring
Blue Lagoon
for
their Honeymoon?
royal turns
to
midnight shadows…
He: “We can’t.”
Blue,
she said, “We’re through!”
tears replaced
with
new blue suede shoes

Inspired by Reverie Twenty-One: charm bracelet, at Joseph Harker’s naming constellations blog. The prompt had multiple layers; rather than repeating the prompt here, go check it out!
This is excellent, Paula. A beautiful poem, well-strung. And now I WANT to try Joseph’s challenge. 🙂

Thank you so much, De! 🙂 It was a fun challenge to follow the intricacies of the prompt…without my head exploding. 😉

And you know me and blue…enamored. Just excellent.

Richard had used blue in one of his “poemlets” — and, loving blue myself, decided to take blue all the way through!

Paula, I’m glad you gave this one a go. You evoke so much with those short stanzas, yet I was able to follow along easily enough. Playing with blue was fun. And you gave it your own spin, using each poemlet to tell a story.

Yours inspired me, Richard. I was afraid I wouldn’t want to try it after having read yours first, but it was “open” enough that your excellent example didn’t keep me from trying. Thanks for the encouragement! And for your kind words!
