A Change Of Heart

A CHANGE OF HEART

Mornings…
once loathed, now loved.

(It’s OK to change my mind, yes?)

gone, the jarring, jangling alarms
waking instead to tender whispers
as I rest in your outstretched arms
comfortable and comforted

(A girl can dream, yes?)

Mornings…
where dreams end.

(Now…where’s the coffee?)
