Her Fate Awaits

HER FATE AWAITS

broken
she sings songs of sorrows
as the blood-red sun is buried
at dusk

addiction
is her destiny
tainted marrow, her fate
her story

staggering
her way through shadows
to where her mate no longer
waits

  1. …staggering her way through shadows…Not to make light of your wonderful wordle…but I often feel that way when waking from a nightmare. I do like that line.

  2. Paula, that last stanza pulls you back to the title; I like the contrast between “fate awaits” and “to where her mate no longer / waits”. And “tainted marrow” – ouch! – but I love it!
