A Stellar Day   6 comments

A STELLAR DAY

with a smudge of delicious
fudge on my chin, and inquisitive
children tucked into bed,
exhaustion settles over me

my body urges my mind
to activate my evening mantra,
an effort to bring unity
to heart, mind, and body

I merge reality with dreams as
modern technology projects
sweet sounds in my ear,
my favorites sing me to sleep

Inspired by The Sunday Whirl #103: merge, project, activate, technology, unity, mantra, smudge, sing, delicious, inquisitive, urge, and stellar. Posted for day 41 in 100 Days of Spring – 2013.

TENDER MERCY

Confidence shaken,
I spiral
in corrupt ambiguity,
yielding to self-
indulgent ways
of the enemy.

Inaudibly
He speaks to me.
Asking for honesty,
offering a solution:
a chance to be
cleansed.

Inspired by Poetic Bloomings #98: Mean What You Say – Sort Of. (We were given a word list and we were to find an antonym of each, and use the new list of words in a poem.)

WORD LIST:
impair — cleanse
chaste — corrupt
power — yielding
angel — enemy
skullduggery — honesty
timidity — confidence
sober — indulgent
loudly — inaudibly
transparent — ambiguity
problem  solution
